A healthy lifestyle will ensure healthier hair. Excessive stress, smoking and bad eating will impact on the state of your hair
Products
Avoid using hair styling products that contain alcohol as it dries the hair out. Never put products directly on the scalp because it will clog the pores which need to have air.
Swimming
Before swimming wet your hair so that it can soak up normal water instead of the chlorinated water. Shampoo and condition soon after swimming to prevent hair drying out which leads to breakage.
Brushing
To avoid breakage, never use a brush on wet hair. Use a comb and start at the ends and work your way up. Rather use fingers to untangle knots instead of combing over and over again.
Drying
Hot air can damage the hair so rather use a cooler setting on your hair dryer and keep the dryer at a distance while drying. Don’t leave it on one spot for too long, keep it moving around the head
Styling
It is advisable to use a heat protectant product before styling to prevent heat damage.
