So I’m reaching my third post from this series. This part of the shoot, was one of my favorites in particular. Maybe it’s the cute little dress or even the pin-up girl poses, but it’s adorable! From the entire collection of pictures in this shoot, this look is the climax of femininity. Seriously. From the material, light grayish hat, to the petite, impeccably tasteful dress.

This was shot far at the end of our location, in de Zalze. The sun was shining, the rain had passed and the breeze was light, making it a perfect autumn day. I enjoyed this shoot in particular, apart from the fact that time was running out.

The dress department of Courage and Candy, located in Stellenbosch near that new frozen yogurt place, consists of a range of tasteful and pretty dresses to wild and energetic dresses. I don’t know what it is about that shop that I like so much, either way, GO LIKE their Facebook PAGE!

I was writing my news reporting 3 test last week Tuesday and had to write a feature article on teen girls’ obsession with high heel shoes. Then I thought that this would be a perfect topic for my next blog because all girls love their high heel shoes irrespective of age.

The relationship between girls and their shoes is one that lasts a lifetime. As the female species we like all kind of shoes; takkies, pumps…we feel just an extra bit special about our high heels.

It starts with sight, when you first spot that shoe among the rest. But the true test comes when you fit the shoe. Sometimes it doesn’t fit as well as you’ve pictured it in your head but then most times you feel like it was made for you and you just have to take it home.
There’s many reasons why we love our heels, firstly it makes us taller, makes us feel confident, super sexy and provides that extra little something that turns your outfit into total fabulousity. So why are we so in love with our high heels?
Well there is no one specific answer. All we know is that when we fitted our moms heels as a toddler…sparks just flew.

He supports your dreams and doesn’t hold you back from doing things that make you happy, such as when you’re all set to spend a fun sun-soaked weekend with the girls. In other words, he’s stylish in many ways.

Although your guy might not be cramping your style or holding you back from chasing your dream, sometimes it could feel like he’s trying to outdo your style. For instance, if he’s always got better or juicier stories than yours or he is no stranger to trying to make your style more like his. You don’t want to be overshadowed by him so hold onto what makes you an individual, okay?

Dating Mr. Style-Less

Not only does your guy fail to notice how gorgeous you look, but when it comes to his own style he’s seriously lacking. This might have spread into his social etiquette, such as when he doesn’t care to think about how awkward it is to bring some chick to share your romantic dinner. Or, he might be cramping your dreams, such as by making you feel bad about having a life outside of the relationship. It’s time to take stock of your relationship and see if he’s worthy of your love. His fashion faux pas you might be able to handle, but if he causes you to be in a bad mood a lot or feel like he’s not supporting you, then it could be time to cut him out.

The highly anticipated Snow White and the Huntsman movie is nearly here.

It hits SA cinema’s on the 1st of June and we all look forward to seeing Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron battle it out on the big screen with the help of hottie, Chris Hemsworth.The flicks’ stars attended the London premiere of the movie this week and Charlize looked absolutely amazing in that dress! Wow! Kristen’s dress however, has left us a little confused. What do you guys think?

Rihanna took her mom Monica Braithwaite out to dinner in NYC this Sunday. She later tweeted pics of the two of them together.

Meanwhile Gwen Stefani (who was also spoilt with flowers) was treated to a lunch in Koreatown by hubby Gavin Rossdale and their son Kingston on Sunday.

Solange spent the morning riding bikes with her son Julez. In the afternoon, she and the rest of her family as well as Jay Z’s family made their way to Beyonce’s apartment to celebrate the singer’s first Mother’s Day. Bey’s mum previously told Us Weekly this about the celebration, ‘We’re all going to be together. We’re excited because it’s Beyoncé’s first Mother’s Day. ‘I’m hoping to cook! I want to cook. My traditional soul food and maybe gumbo. That’s my favorite dish!’ Sounds like fun!

The Afflecks meanwhile spent the day attending daughter Violet’s ballet recital on Sunday. The uber cute family was snapped leaving the recital, with Jen carrying a bouquet of flowers while Ben took pics of the family outing. So cute!

Halle Berry was spotted at the Farmers market in LA with daughter Nahla and fiance Olivier Martinez. The three of the spent the day there before heading out to lunch at a nearby restaurant.

The crowds came out in numbers to enjoy the final leg of the Goodluck “Le Good Life” tour which featured the trio themselves plus dynamic duo Pascal & Pearce.

Goodluck kept the crowd moving and singing along to their fresh and catchy beats like “Hop On, Hop Off” and “Taking It Easy” all while enjoying a warm night on the beach at Suncoast Casino. We were also lucky enough to hear an exclusive unreleased track specially written for JC Le Roux called “Le Good Life” which was a huge hit.

Juliet Harding with her unbelievable vocals and unforgettable dance moves – in platform heels of course – along with Ben Peters making sure the beats were fast and hard and Raiven Hansmann on the sax, made sure the crowd had a night they won’t forget in a hurry.

Not only was their performance impressionable but their interaction with the crowd was like no other live show I’ve seen – Juliet went into the crowd to dance and party with them, CD’s and Ray Ban sunglasses were given away and had they wanted to – they could’ve kept everyone, old and young partying till all hours of the morning.

After their set they tweeted

“Durban.that.was.unfricken.believable. Minds are officially blown! Thank you so so so much”

Pascal and Pearce took to the stage next to turn the party up a notch with their electro house hits.

All in all – the night was a massive success and I think I speak for all Durbanites when I say “PLEASE COME BACK” because there ain’t no party like a Goodluck party.

Impi Concept Events ensured that the event ran smoothly without any glitches – they even made sure Durban weather provided too. Goodluck are off to Europe until September – we wish them them, erm, ‘good luck’ and are sure they will make us proud!

If you’re bored with your image, you’re probably itching to get a new look. Who says you need a shopping trip? You probably have treasures right in your wardrobe. Here are 13 ways to recycle what you already have and give it new life before you throw it away.

1. Think out the box!
If there’s a funky scarf you dig but you just don’t want to wear it anymore, why not use it as a belt? Think about what items can get new use in different ways!

2. Dare to experiment
Sometimes clothing items look best when they’re with other items that complement them. Think about how those funky tees look their best when they’re on sexy jeans, for instance. So experiment with your wardrobe and try different things together. You never know what cool combos you’ll land on! You just need to take the time to see what works.

3. Don’t throw out the vintage!
Vintage is always a hot trend, so don’t throw out what you consider to be your ‘old’ clothes. Try to pair them up with modern items to create a show-stopping effect.

4. Cut it up  
Sometimes you need a few adjustments to make the most out of your clothes. For instance, if your jeans are not cool anymore, why not get them made into shorts that you can rock for summer? Or, if that long, off-the-shoulder jersey doesn’t fit right even though it’s gorgeous, send it to a tailor who can nip it in and make it flattering for your body type.

5. It’s ruined, but… 
There’s life in those paint-splattered, torn items yet! Whatever you don’t use, don’t throw away. Keep such tattered items for when you need to re-paint your bedroom or you’re doing some other task that could result in a few mishaps. That way you won’t be ruining your good clothes.

6. Phone a friend
Sometimes we get so used to what’s hanging in our wardrobes that we totally forget how awesome the items really look. So ask your friend to give you honest advice about what looks good and what doesn’t anymore – it helps to gain some objective advice.

7. Don’t lose summer heart
Although summer’s checked out for a while, that doesn’t mean you can’t make use of some summery clothing – just with a few tweaks. For instance, that funky coral dress you loved to wear might look awesome on leggings. Or pair a short-sleeved tee with a long-sleeved tee underneath it to give you warmth and make you look funky.

8. Swish it!
Okay, so you’ve had enough of what you’ve got in your wardrobe. Point taken. Why not have a swishing party? Here are the rules: everyone you invite has to bring at least one item they’ll swap with someone else at the party. Your friend’s trash could be your treasure, and vice versa.

9. Add some sparkle
Fed up with that boring black tee? Add some sparkle in the form of funky buttons, skull brooches or sequins. It doesn’t take much to do this and it’ll result in a funky new shirt that no one else will have in their wardrobe.

10. Buy accessories
If you have to buy something, choose accessories that aren’t too expensive. These can really make an outfit! Think of the effect of stunning chunky bangles or necklaces on a plain top. Hot stuff coming up.

11. Take stock of everything you have
Take every single thing out of your wardrobe and see what you’ve got. This is important before you rush out and buy clothing, ‘cause you might have cool items in there that you totally forgot about. (Fashion forgetfulness, much?)

12. Give it TLC
If you don’t look after your clothing, your clothes can’t really work their magic on you. So give your clothing a good wash and let them sparkle naturally! This is an instant way to revive clothes that feel old or that you haven’t worn in ages. Always read the washing instructions so that you don’t damage pretty items.

13. Show some love
Once you’ve tried all the above, if there are still items you don’t want, why not donate them to a hospice? Someone out there would greatly benefit from things you no longer need, especially when it comes to some woolly winter goodies during the chilly months.

Set in 1975 in Brooklyn, the story revolves around two brothers, 18-year-old Brian Leary (Nick Thurston) and his older brother Danny (Geoff Wigdor).

The two have a complicated relationship, although they love each other Brian also fears Danny and often gets bullied into doing things he doesn’t want to…like robbing jewellery stores just because Danny wants to do it. The two of them also have to deal with an abusive father and living in a community where everyone has settled for just getting jobs that’ll keep them going until they retire. However, Brian is an extremely talented artist and with the help of his love interest Shauna (Leslie Murphy) he starts to think of using his talent as a way of getting out of town. Although this movie starts off well, somewhere along the line it gets weird and the story just doesn’t make sense and doesn’t really excite like it should. Quite disappointing
