I love these crazy times we live in, looking back in history there are things about past era’s that stand out such as that awesome hippie look or corsets and gloves half way up your arm but we are lucky enough to incorporate everything we have learnt from those times into fashion today.

Fashion has become so versatile and experimental that we are even mixing and matching prints. While it’s a look that you would have to be brave to wear, it can be one that is uber stylish and screams confidence. Then of course, the ultimate statement of today is colour blocking. Wearing complimentary yet contrasting colours to create an up-to-date funky look which everyone can pull off with the right knowledge.
TIPS FOR PRINTS
Start slow
If you’re weary about mixing prints, start slow. Textured, patterned tights are a good way to start. An animal print top with patterned shoes such as a floral design will also help you ease your way into the trend.
Colours
Always pair a neutral print with a busier one. A nude floral print skirt and a metallic or neon stripe is an easy way to try this trend. Let one of the printed pieces shine, while the other supports
Try textures
Often the texture of your patterned items can make a huge difference. Experiment with different textures, for example lace and polka dots may not be your ideal but if you research on the net, you will find it actually looks really stylish.
TRICKS FOR COLOUR BLOCKING
Limit the amount of colours
Stick to 2- 3 colours to avoid looking like a clown.
Wear neutral on trouble areas
We all have “trouble areas” so the best thing to do with this look is to accentuate your good parts with the brights and down play the parts you aren’t too fond of
Use separate garments
Don’t use a single garment with 3 stacked colours built in, this look is better created with separate garments. So play with clothes in your cupboard and you will get the hang of it.

Totally agree Kerry. I’m loving that mix and match trend right now. So cool!
