So you look at others and think she looks great, or you read about fashion daily but have no idea what your personal style is…
Finding your own style is as much of an exercise as self-discovery. Our clothes speak a thousand words and whether we like it or not there is quite a bit of truth to the old saying “the clothes make the girl”. In a sense what we wear conveys a message of who we are. It gives onlookers a taste of our personalities and preferences.
So how do you actually go about developing your own style?

Always keep in mind that fashion is a way to express yourself so you should always stay true to who you are and forget about others thoughts and opinions. They must accept you as you are.
Research will be an important part of the process, learning about different styles and how to wear them will give you ideas to try. Fashion magazines, going into stores or even celeb watching will give you an idea of what is on offer, what you may prefer and what to do with it once you actually purchase it. While all this will teach you the basics, don’t be a copy cat, use your knowledge to be unique and tell your story.
Comfort is a huge factor; it’s no good going out and buying all the latest garments but feeling uncomfortable in them. If you are uncomfortable then you know that is not your style.
Colours are important to consider as they will either make you stand out or blend in. Choose your colours according to your favorites.
Being a form of art, it will take practice, mixing and matching colours, prints and styles may be difficult if you have no clue where to begin, but your interpretation is what’s actually important so there is no wrong or right way, just your way!
It’s all about YOU when dressing so never do it to impress someone, always do it to feel good about yourself and before you know it you may just be a fashionista.
